Whats the difference between the optical port and the blink indicator?

The optical port is a service interface for electricity and district heating meters where the metering data can be read digitally. Ngenic Track reads the values the meter has measured which means they are identical with the ones you get on your bill. For district heating this is the only way to read the data.

Some electricity meters don’t have a compatible standard interface and instead have a LED light that blinks in the tempo of your usage, and Ngenic Track can measure those blinks as well. The blink indicator is shaped like small round light and is labeled with either imp/kWh or blink/kWh together with a number (usually 500, 1000 or 10000).
