2G network closing

Most 4G and 5G SIM cards today still have the capability to access 2G network that is used for sending SMS messages. However, mobile operators are eventually planning to shut down 2G network to free up bandwidth for 4G and 5G technologies. Popular mobile operators in the Nordic region (Telia, Elisa) are estimating that they will close 2G by the end of 2025.

When 2G network is shut down entirely, the current versions of AirPatrol Nordic can no longer work as they are GSM-based devices and use SMS messages for communication.
