Questions about Subscription

Why was the subscription model introduced?

The previous company behind Ngenic Tune went bankrupt in April 2025 (Ngenic AB). The reason was simply that it was no longer sustainable to operate the service by just selling hardware. Operation, support, servers, and further development cost money every month – regardless of how long ago someone purchased the product. The service is now continued by a new company called Ngenic Energi AB, where the focus is on subscriptions.

What happens if I don't have a subscription?

If you do not activate the subscription, you can still see current readings in the app. Some energy companies that provide Ngenic Tune include the subscription. Log in here to check your status: http://account.ngenic.se/

Does this apply to customers who have already purchased Ngenic Tune?

Yes, unfortunately. The former Ngenic AB went bankrupt. Now there is a new company (Ngenic Energi AB) that continues the service. In order for this to be possible, we need to implement a subscription model for everyone – both new and existing users. We are offering discounts on subscriptions to everyone who has already purchased their hardware.

Why should I pay a monthly fee for something I have already bought?

We understand that it feels frustrating. However, after the bankruptcy, there is no financial possibility to operate the service without ongoing revenue. The previous one-time payment did not cover the operating costs – which is exactly why the company went bankrupt. However, we are convinced that the savings + other benefits are greater than the monthly cost and are very grateful for continued support!

What does the subscription cost for me since I already have the hardware?

If you already have the hardware for Ngenic Tune from before May 2025, you will receive a discounted price:

  • Basic: 49 SEK/month – for comfort, energy saving, and history
  • Standard: 79 SEK/month – also includes electricity price control (for those with hourly price agreements and electric heating)

Everyone who subscribes under 2025 will receive a promise that we will not change the price for at least 3 years.

What does it cost for new customers?

  • Standard without electricity price control: 99 SEK/month
  • Standard with electricity price control: 159 SEK/month

This also includes rental of hardware, unlike customers who already own their hardware from before.

How do I sign up for a subscription?

Go to: account.ngenic.se

Log in with the same user you have in the app. Note that it must be the primary user (not an invited user).

What is needed to get a discount via Tibber

Log in here: https://account.ngenic.se

Link your Ngenic account with your Tibber account. After that, you can have a subscription that corresponds to standard for 44 SEK/month.

Everyone who has bought the Ngenic Tune system via Tibber can sign up via https://account.ngenic.se/

From February 2026, you will also need to have an electricity trading agreement with Tibber to maintain the discount.

The discount doesn't show up for me?

This may be because your user is not the main user. You can check this in the Ngenic Tune app if, for example, you can invite new users via settings -> Users.

Contact us if that is the case. support@ngenic.se

Having trouble paying after logging in?

If you do not see any offers, it may be because we have not yet completed the activation for some users who purchased the system through a retailer.

Are you having issues with card payment?

Double-check that your online bank allows card purchases online. We use two reliable services: ChargeBee for subscription management and Stripe for card payments.

Is there any binding period?

No, there is no binding period. The subscription works just like a regular streaming service – you pay in advance for the period you choose (month or year), and can cancel at any time. You will then retain access to the service for the entire paid period, without any extra fees or notice periods.
